Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007)

Description:

Bhool Bhulaiyaa is a 2007 Indian comedy horror film. It stars Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan. It was directed by Priyadarshan.

A man named Siddharth comes back home from the U.S. to live in a palace his family claims is haunted.

Review:

There is more dancing and singing in this movie than "scary ghosts".

Since this movie is also classified as a comedy, I didn't go into this one expecting it to be terrifying. It felt spooky at times that characters were wandering the palace alone. I enjoyed those moments but unfortunately, it only happened a few times. The film is 2 hours and 39 mins and it definitely feels that long.

Fifty percent of this movie included dancing and singing, forty percent was a comedy with long dialogue and the last ten percent was eerie. I enjoyed the film score but I felt when the singing scenes came on it pushed me right out of the horror genre. Luckily the story is interesting, but it could have been an hour and forty minute movie.

Rating:

To sum it up, the cinematography was beautiful, the acting was great but the story was too long. It ended up feeling more like a comedy/drama than a horror film.

I wouldn't watch this again because it was almost three hours long and I didn't find it to be extremely enjoyable. I'd recommend this if you're looking for a comedy with a bit of spook in it.
