Oct Friday 13th:

Friday the 13th (2009)

Description:

Friday the 13th is a 2009 reboot slasher film. This is the 12th installment and it stars Jared Padalecki (from the TV series Supernatural (2005)) and Amanda Righetti. It was directed by Marcus Nispel who also directed the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003).

In 2009 Clay Miller's sister Whitney has gone missing after camping at Crystal Lake. He arrives at the lake to find a new group of campers and Jason Voorhees.

Review:

Same story, different victims.

Same story, different victims.

Jason is back once again along with more annoying teens who love weed and decide to have sex at the infamous Camp Crystal Lake. I like the idea of someone trying to find their missing sister, but other than that it was just another Jason film. Right away you know who's going to live. You know who's going to die

The only minor thing that changed was that Jason ran after people instead of his iconic slow walk. If Jared Padalecki wasn't in this movie then I would have lost all interest. The characters were boring and one dimensional. Jenna's boyfriend in the movie sleeps with her friend and she doesn't even seem to care or notice.

Every scene I thought "here we go again." There was some horrible dialogue and the use of sex was over the top. The camera work was a bit shaky at the beginning and I wasn't frightened at all.

This didn't feel fresh and new, it felt boring and recycled. You don't need to watch this movie. It doesn't do much for the franchise and it's not scary. This is my first and last viewing.
