Description:

U Turn is a 2016 Indian mystery horror film directed by Pawan Kumar.

A reporter named Rachana (Shraddha Srinath) discovers a strange connection between u-turns and mysterious deaths.

Review:

There was a creepy vibe in the beginning, but it fizzled out and mainly felt like a boring crime drama.

The opening credits did a great job at making me feel uneasy, but then it was followed by a long car ride of Rachana's mom pressuring her into marriage. Most scenes felt too drawn out.

Rachana's romance with her coworker was apart of the main plot, but in the beginning, it felt like a romance movie. It seemed like they could only stick to one genre at a time, rather than having the entire movie feeling scary.

The police basically force Rachana to the station when people start to die. When they go to investigate a house, the man inside says he is a lawyer, knows his rights, and demands a warrant. The police push past him and go inside anyway.

The scariest part was when the reporter is trying to warn two men not do an illegal u-turn since people who do end up dying. The men tell her to leave and one tells her he'll rape her, high fives his friend, and they drive off. Disgusting.

Overall, the ghost story wasn't something I've seen before, but it wasn't scary. One jump scare made me jump, but there was no tension or build up. The ending was the most interesting part, but the main story couldn't keep my full attention. I wouldn't watch this again and I wouldn't recommend it.
