The Midnight Hour (1985)

Description:

The Midnight Hour is a comedy horror TV movie from 1985, directed by Jack Bender (also directed TV show "Lost" and "Child's Play 3"). A group of high school kids steal costumes and artifacts from a museum and accidentally unleash a curse upon the town. Oops!

Review:

This movie reminds me of those Disney Channel movies such as Halloween Town (1998).

Honestly, the beginning was boring for me because the actors weren't the best, but I really liked the music they picked (Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Smiths) and the ending was more unnerving than I thought it would be.

The best scene in the movie was when Melissa (played by Shari Belafonte) goes down to her parent's wine cellar during a party. A vampire attacks her and barrels of red wine spray out in slow motion as she's being bitten.

The rest of the party was lame. Seriously, there was a 5 min dancing/singing scene and I wanted to die. At least Eric Forman's dad from that 70's Show was in it.

Overall, it was pretty entertaining by the end. I loved the look of the cemetery they went to and the Phil/Sandy love story was cute. Would I watch it again? I would not!
