Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI (1986)

Description:

Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives is a 1986 slasher film. It is the 6th in the franchise and it stars Thom Mathews (who also played Freddy in The Return of the Living Dead (1985)) and Jennifer Cooke. It was directed by Tom McLoughlin, who also worked on Friday the 13th: The Game (2017).

Tommy (yup he's back again for the third time, also played by a new actor) awakens Jason on accident and must warn the people of Camp Forest Green before it's too late.

Review:

This movie was way better than the one before!

Tommy must prove his innocence with the help of a police officer's daughter. The plot was interesting and had a somewhat different idea than the other five movies. It felt like the story was going somewhere important rather than watching hopeless teens die with no purpose.

There are typical characters such as the cops who hate teens and a group of kids where at least one of them has loud sex in the woods. Luckily there was no nudity and the teens weren't categorized too heavily as a "jock" or "goth". It was nice to see Tommy surviving two movies (which is very rare) and have a role other than "insane mental patient."

Overall I enjoyed this movie. The acting was a lot better and I was excited to see what was going to happen next. I would watch this one again and I recommend checking it out (you could even skip the other four if you don't care to see them all). Check out the first Friday the 13th though, if you haven't seen it already.
