The Witch Part 1: The Subversion is a 2018 South Korean mystery action film directed by Park Hoon-Jung and stars Kim Da Mi, Jo Min Soo, and Choi Woo Shik❤.
A young girl is found by an old couple and raised in a small farming town. Their simple life is turned upside down when a group of dangerous and mysterious people come to find her and take her back to a government facility where she escaped from ten years ago.
This is one of those movies where you're sitting there biting your nails and wondering what's going to happen next. There is a big secret surrounding the main character Koo Ja-Yoon. Who is she and why does she have powers that her adoptive parents are apprehensive about her showing? I'm usually good at figuring out what is going to happen next in a movie since I've seen so many and they usually fit certain patterns, but this one has a good twist!

Wolf Guy is a 1975 action horror movie directed by Kazuhiko Yamaguchi.
A man named Akira (Shin'ichi Chiba, who also plays Hattori Hanzo in the Kill Bill films) begins to investigate a woman named Miki who is said to have put a curse on the men who sexually assaulted her in the past.
Review:
Other than the exciting camera angles, nothing else was enjoyable for me in this movie. It felt more like a crime/action film and only felt like a horror movie briefly at the end.
A lot of the time is spent finding a woman named Miki. There isn't much talk about Akira being a werewolf until the very end, which is strange since the title of the film is "Wolf Guy". He is very strong -- but that leads to the extremely loud and cheesy sound effects. The music also ruined many moments. It sounded like a 70's adult film instead of a 70's HORROR film.
There were three women who would suddenly fall in love with him and throw themselves at him. It felt like I was watching Austin Powers (who might be a werewolf since he's so hairy). It also reminded me of Austin Powers when Akira was escaping a prison near the end. The "henchmen" came out of nowhere with more lame sound effects and trapped floors.
The only interesting part was when a secret organization kidnaps Miki and uses her curse powers for political gain. That's it -- after this happens, our main character Akira RUNS away and pretty much admits things feel "meaningless" for Miki. His whole motivation felt unclear. He wants to help her, but then ends up abandoning her and having a new woman throw herself at him -- randomly.
Many of the ideas in the film felt spoon fed. It told us what was happening instead of showing us and letting us formulate ideas ourselves. One character tells Akira "I had your blood transfused to me so I can become a werewolf. I'm your alter ego!" ... Sir, please calm down.
To conclude, a small amount of the plot near the end caught my attention, but the film as a whole felt like a sexualized crime drama. The music became irritating and story flopped. I can't recommend this one, especially if you're looking for a horror movie.
